Nice sunset colors out our front window.

I went walking around town to try to find a shot that I could use to update this blog…it’s been forever.  So I took some.  I’m trying to be a little too clever in this one, but I like it.

Up at the (still need a name for it) GreenLittoHuptonWhoever cabin with InterVarsity BC peeps and what the heck is that?  Snow.  For real, and only an hour away from Bakersfield.  Almost needed the chains.  Yes that’s my camera case on the botton, no, that’s not my iPhone.

The symmetry of this building is almost unnerving.  My favorite part is that late in the evening, if you stand about a block west, you can see through the roof.  The light shining through the vents above the windows makes it look like the whole roof was attached by a helicopter.  If you’re like me and didn’t know what the Junior League is, here you go.

Yeah, a little cheezy as titles go.  The first Friday of every month (at least this one) there’s some fun in the “art district” of downtown Bako.  The fire department had their big ladder engine out with this gynormous flag suspended above the street.  Ironic twist, at the end they pack the thing in (we’ll be optimistic) something resembling the standard blue recycling bin with wheels and lid.

Watched a wonderful French film here two nights ago.  It was our first time inside this bit of Bakersfield history.  Good line up of films this year.
